AI School › AI and emotions · Lesson 103 of 130
It is easy to grow attached to an always-available AI, but the heart also needs real people.
An AI is never tired, never angry, never tells you 'I can't right now'. It is always there, ready to listen at any hour. That is why it can become very easy to get attached, especially on a bad day when you feel alone or misunderstood. Feeling good when someone listens to us is natural and human. But precisely because AI is so convenient and always available, there is a risk: spending so much time with it that you start preferring it to real people, who are sometimes busy, distracted, or disagree with us.
The problem is not feeling affection; it is letting that affection take the place of everything else. Real people are more complicated than an AI: they can let you down, but they can also surprise you with a hug, a shared laugh, real help a program can never give. If you notice you think of an AI as your main company, that is a gentle signal to stop and rebalance. Use the AI a little, then close it and look for a person: a parent, a friend, a classmate. The heart grows strong when it is fed by real relationships, not only by screens.
For one week, every time you close an AI chat, do one thing together with a real person.
