📝 Summarising a long text

AI can squeeze a long text down to its juice, but the real summary is you understanding it.

Think of a sponge full of water: if you squeeze it, only the essential stays and the excess drips away. Summarising is like that: removing the side parts and keeping the heart of the message. AI is very fast at it. You give it a long text and ask "summarise it in five points" or "tell me in three sentences what it's about". In seconds you have the map of the text, perfect for grasping the topic before studying it well or for last-minute revision.

But beware of a trap: reading only the AI's summary and skipping the text won't really teach you, like looking at a photo of a cake without tasting it. The clever way is different: you read the text, try to summarise it in your own words, then ask the AI for its summary and compare. Did you catch the same important things? Did you miss anything? This way the AI's summary becomes a coach checking yours, not a way to skip the effort that makes you grow.
