📜 The world's rules: AI laws

Europe wrote the first major AI law: the higher the risk, the more rules apply.

Technologies need rules, just like roads need a traffic code. Europe wrote the world's first major law on artificial intelligence, the AI Act, with a simple idea: the riskier an AI use, the more rules it must follow. A photo filter has few rules; an AI deciding about health, school or jobs has many; some uses (like systems giving citizens a "social score") are banned entirely.

The laws also say things that concern you: you have the right to know when you are talking to a machine, and artificial images will have to be labelled. Rules always arrive a little after inventions, that is why we need citizens who know them and demand them. In a few years, that citizen will be you.

Class parliament: write your own 5-article "AI at school law" (where it can be used, where it must be disclosed, what is forbidden). Discussion, amendments and a final show-of-hands vote.
