🎬 Deepfakes: when videos lie

AI can create videos of people saying things they never said. Watch for clues.

Once, seeing a video was proof: "I saw it with my own eyes!". Today AI can create fake videos of real people, with their face and voice, saying things they never said. They are called deepfakes. Some are harmless jokes, others are used to deceive, embarrass or spread fake news.

Defences exist. First: always ask "who published this video, and why?". Second: look for the same news on reliable sources, if a huge fact appears in a single video, get suspicious. Third: watch the details (out-of-sync lips, odd lighting, wrong hands). And the rule of rules: verify before sharing. A fake video shared by you becomes a lie with your signature on it.
