🎨 AI-generated images

AI draws starting from noise, guided by words. And you can learn to spot it.

AIs can also create images: type "an ice-cream castle at sunset" and it appears in seconds. How? They studied millions of images with their descriptions and learned to work backwards: they start from a screen full of random dots and, step by step, turn it into a picture matching your words.

The result can be beautiful, yet it deserves an alert eye: in AI images, hands sometimes have extra fingers, text looks scrambled, backgrounds melt in odd ways. Spotting an artificial image is a new kind of literacy: we used to read just words, today we "read" images too.
