🌾 AI in the farmers' fields

It helps give the right water, care for plants and harvest at the perfect time.

Growing food is an ancient, hard job: how much water is needed? Are the plants sick? Is it time to harvest? Today an AI helps farmers answer. Small sensors in the soil measure how dry it is, and the AI decides to give water only where it is really needed, without wasting it. Drones fly over the fields and their cameras, read by the AI, immediately spot the area where the leaves are turning yellow.

This way less water and fewer chemicals are used, which is good for the environment and for the farmer's wallet. The AI can even tell weeds from good plants, helping machines remove them without ruining the harvest. But the farmer's knowledge stays precious: they know their land, their sky and their traditions. AI is a new tool in the box, next to the hoe and the experience of generations.
