➗ Maths: understand, don't copy

AI can show you the road to solve a problem, but you must learn to take the steps yourself.

In maths, copying the result is like being carried to the top of a mountain: you get up there, but your legs haven't learned to walk. At the next mountain, that is the test, you're back to square one. Yet AI can be a great teacher if you use it well. The trick is not to ask "what's the answer?", but "explain how it's done, step by step, without giving me the result right away". This way you see the reasoning, understand the rule and next time you walk on your own legs.

Here are some requests that truly help you learn. "Give me a problem similar to this so I can practise", "check where I went wrong in my working", "explain why we use this formula and not another". After the AI shows you the method, close everything and try the same exercise alone. If you can do it, you've won. Maths doesn't reward those who have the answer, it rewards those who understand why. Using AI to copy is handy for a day and harmful forever; using it to understand makes you stronger with every exercise.

Take an exercise, ask the AI only for the step-by-step method, then cover it and redo the exercise alone until you can do it unaided.
