Senior Backend Engineer (Laravel)

APIs, queues, webhooks, cron and payments: Grace's backend orchestrates AI evaluations, gamification and a B2B HR module. You will make it ready for 1,000× today's traffic.

What you will do

Design and evolve the APIs (evaluations, Arena, certifications, HR module)
Robustness: rate limiting, Stripe webhook idempotency, queues and retries
MySQL performance: indexes, queries, caching
Application security: JWT auth, sessions, anti-abuse protection
Scheduled automations (job fetching, weekly leagues, email)

What we are looking for

5+ years of backend work, with Laravel (or an equivalent MVC framework) in production
Experience with payments, webhooks and event-driven systems
Real-world MySQL/PostgreSQL optimisation skills
Product mindset: the backend serves users, not itself
Fluent Italian or English
