Self-consistency

Self-consistency means having the model generate multiple independent answers to the same question and picking the most recurrent or coherent one. If the model reaches the same result via different paths, that result is probably more reliable.

Definition

Practical use: ask the same question in 3 separate conversations and check convergence. Divergence signals ambiguity or a task at the edge of the model's capability, deserving human verification.
