AI Dictionary › Prompting
Output Format is the specification of how you want the AI to structure and present its response. Not specifying the format is one of the most common prompting mistakes: the AI chooses what it considers the most universal format, which is often not the most useful for the user's specific intended use.
The format can be specified in great detail: "Table with 5 columns," "Business letter email," "JSON with specific keys," "7-bullet list," "Slide deck structure."
In Grace, Output Format is worth 20% of the total score. Different scenarios call for different formats: a competitor analysis might need a table; an internal communication a structured email; an editorial plan a calendar with dates and content. Specifying the right format is the difference between an output you can use immediately and one you have to rewrite.
