Chain-of-density is an iterative summarisation technique: the model produces a first summary, then rewrites it several times at fixed length, adding missing entities and details each pass while compressing the rest. The final result is information-dense yet the same length. Example prompt: "Summarise this article in 60 words. Then rewrite the summary 4 times, keeping 60 words but adding 2-3 important previously-omitted entities each pass, without increasing length." The model returns a progression from generic to rich, specific summary.
Use it when you need short but information-dense summaries: abstracts, executive summaries, product blurbs, metadata. It is the right tool when packing maximum useful information into a fixed space matters.
La chain-of-density è una tecnica di riassunto iterativo: il modello produce un primo riassunto e poi lo riscrive più volte, a lunghezza costante, aggiungendo a ogni giro entità e dettagli mancanti e comprimendo il resto. Il risultato finale è denso di informazioni ma della stessa lunghezza. Esempio di prompt: "Riassumi questo articolo in 60 parole. Poi riscrivi il riassunto 4 volte, mantenendo 60 parole ma inserendo ogni volta 2-3 entità importanti finora omesse, senza aumentare la lunghezza". Il modello restituisce una progressione da riassunto generico a riassunto ricco e specifico.
Usalo quando servono riassunti brevi ma ad alta densità informativa: abstract, executive summary, schede prodotto, metadati. È la tecnica giusta quando conta far entrare il massimo di informazione utile in uno spazio fisso.
