Versionamento dei Prompt
Prompt versioning is the practice of treating prompts as code: storing them in version control, tagging each with a version identifier, tracking changes, and being able to roll back to a previous version. It matters because a small wording change can noticeably alter output, and without traceability it is impossible to tell what caused a regression. Example: summary_prompt_v3 adds "max 100 words" over v2; you measure quality and cost on a test set and, if v3 is worse, restore v2. Each version has a changelog, metrics and date.
Use it in any production application that depends on prompts: it enables A/B tests, audits, rollbacks and team collaboration. It is the foundation of disciplined prompt engineering, without versioning, every tweak is an unrepeatable shot in the dark.
