Modelli di ragionamento (o1/o3)
Reasoning models such as OpenAI's o1 and o3 are a class of language models designed to tackle complex problems by spending more compute on thinking before answering. Unlike standard models that produce an immediate reply, these models generate a long internal chain of thought, breaking the problem into intermediate steps, checking assumptions and self-correcting. This markedly improves performance in mathematics, programming, logic and scientific tasks, where a single wrong step ruins the whole result. Processing time and cost are higher because reasoning consumes more tokens.
They are used where accuracy matters more than speed: technical analysis, proofs, advanced debugging. Several providers have adopted similar approaches, making extended reasoning increasingly common.
