Ollama (local models)

Ollama (modelli locali)

Ollama is a tool that simplifies running open-weight language models directly on your own computer, without depending on cloud services. With a few commands it lets you download, manage and start models like Llama, Qwen or Phi, automatically handling the technical configuration needed to run them on the available hardware. It also exposes a local programming interface, compatible with common standards, that lets other applications talk to the model as if it were a remote service while staying entirely on the user's machine.

Definition

Ollama's value is making private AI use practical: data never leaves the device, there are no per-request costs and operation is possible offline. It is widely used by developers, researchers and privacy-conscious companies.
