Qwen

Qwen is a family of language models developed by Alibaba Cloud, largely distributed with open weights. It includes generalist models, versions specialised for coding and mathematics, and multimodal variants able to process images. Qwen is known for strong multilingual performance, with particular attention to Asian languages alongside English, and for availability in many sizes covering both local execution on modest hardware and large-scale deployment. The models are published on open distribution platforms and usable through Alibaba's cloud APIs.

Definition

The Qwen ecosystem is one of the main non-Western contributions to the open-model landscape, offering companies a competitive alternative for applications requiring data control or broad language support.
