Specific Objective

Obiettivo Specifico

Specific Objective is the prompting dimension that measures how clearly the prompt describes what the AI must produce. It's not about describing the topic area ("help me with the strategy") but the precise, quantified output expected ("build a LinkedIn editorial calendar for September: 12 posts, 3 per week, alternating case studies, tips, and educational content").

Definition

A specific objective answers: what must the AI produce? How many elements? With what structure? In what form? For what final purpose? A vague objective produces vague output; a specific, quantified objective produces output that's usable directly or with minimal revision.

In Grace's evaluation system, Specific Objective is one of the 7 dimensions scored, with a weight that varies from scenario to scenario (15% in the first scenario of the catalog, for example). Regardless of the exact weight, the gap between "help me" (no objective, low score) and "write X with Y features in Z format" (specific objective, high score) is often the difference between a score of 40 and a score of 90.

How it's used in Grace

In Grace, Specific Objective is one of the dimensions scored on every scenario, with a weight that varies case by case. For each scenario, turn the generic request into a measurable objective: not "help me write a policy", but "write a 2-page policy with 5 sections (definition, scope, responsibilities, procedures, sanctions) in language accessible to non-HR staff".
