Watermarking AI
AI watermarking is the set of techniques for marking AI-generated content so its origin can be recognized: invisible watermarks in images, statistical patterns in text, signed provenance metadata (like the C2PA standard backed by Adobe, Google and OpenAI).
The EU AI Act pushes in this direction by requiring synthetic content to be recognizable. Current limits: watermarks can be removed or degraded, and effectiveness depends on universal standard adoption, useful, but not a standalone solution.
