Privacy by Design

Privacy by design is the principle, codified in GDPR article 25, that data protection must be built into systems and processes from the start, not patched on afterwards. Its corollary, privacy by default, requires the most protective settings to be the default ones.

Definition

Applied to workplace AI: choose tools that don't train on your data, minimize data in prompts, anonymize before sending, define short retention, and prefer local processing (SLMs) for the most sensitive data.
