Valutazione di conformità
Conformity assessment is the process by which it is verified and documented that an AI system meets the requirements set by the regulation before being placed on the market or put into service. For high-risk systems governed by the European regulation, it involves checking aspects such as risk management, data quality, transparency, human oversight, accuracy and robustness. Depending on the type of system, the assessment may be carried out by the provider itself through internal controls or require the involvement of an independent body.
At the end of the process, the provider draws up the technical documentation, issues a declaration of conformity and, where required, affixes the marking attesting compliance. The assessment is not a one-off: it must be updated when the system undergoes substantial changes, maintaining conformity over time.
La valutazione di conformità è il processo attraverso cui si verifica e si documenta che un sistema di intelligenza artificiale soddisfi i requisiti previsti dalla normativa prima di essere immesso sul mercato o messo in servizio. Per i sistemi ad alto rischio disciplinati dal regolamento europeo, essa comporta la verifica di aspetti come la gestione del rischio, la qualità dei dati, la trasparenza, la sorveglianza umana, l'accuratezza e la robustezza. A seconda del tipo di sistema, la valutazione può essere effettuata dal fornitore stesso tramite controlli interni oppure richiedere il coinvolgimento di un organismo indipendente.
Al termine del processo, il fornitore redige la documentazione tecnica, emette una dichiarazione di conformità e, dove previsto, appone la marcatura che attesta il rispetto dei requisiti. La valutazione non è un adempimento unico: va aggiornata quando il sistema subisce modifiche sostanziali, mantenendo la conformità nel tempo.
