Obblighi di trasparenza
Transparency obligations are the disclosure duties that the European AI regulation imposes so that people know when they are interacting with an AI system or artificially generated content. In practice, someone using a chatbot must be told they are not talking to a human; synthetic content such as AI-produced images, audio and video must be suitably marked; and emotion-recognition or biometric-categorisation systems must disclose their presence to exposed individuals. These obligations vary by type of system and its risk level.
The aim is to protect trust and people's ability to navigate an environment increasingly filled with artificial content and interactions. Transparency enables informed choices, reduces the risk of deception and connects to technical tools such as provenance credentials, which make the origin of content verifiable.
Gli obblighi di trasparenza sono i doveri informativi che il regolamento europeo sull'intelligenza artificiale impone affinché le persone sappiano quando stanno interagendo con un sistema AI o con contenuti generati artificialmente. In pratica, chi utilizza un chatbot deve essere informato di non star parlando con un essere umano; i contenuti sintetici come immagini, audio e video prodotti dall'AI devono essere adeguatamente contrassegnati; e i sistemi di riconoscimento delle emozioni o di categorizzazione biometrica devono dichiarare la propria presenza alle persone esposte. Questi obblighi variano a seconda del tipo di sistema e del suo livello di rischio.
Lo scopo è tutelare la fiducia e la capacità delle persone di orientarsi in un ambiente sempre più popolato da contenuti e interazioni artificiali. La trasparenza consente scelte informate, riduce il rischio di inganno e si collega a strumenti tecnici come le credenziali di provenienza, che rendono verificabile l'origine dei contenuti.
