AI literacy

Alfabetizzazione AI (AI literacy)

AI literacy is the set of knowledge, skills and awareness that enable a person to understand, use and critically assess artificial intelligence systems. It is not about being able to program, but about grasping broadly how these tools work, their limits, risks such as errors and hallucinations, and their ethical and privacy implications. It includes correctly interpreting outputs, knowing when to trust or distrust a result and using AI responsibly in one's work context.

Definition

The European regulation introduces an AI literacy obligation: organisations that develop or use these systems must ensure an adequate level of competence among the staff involved. The aim is for decisions about AI use to be made knowingly, reducing misuse and fostering an informed, safe adoption of the technology.
